Learn Catalyst Series #6 :Make Cliq Bots quicker, easier with Catalyst.

Zoho Cliq has the 4th highest adoption levels among Zoho services because millions of users worldwide use Zoho Cliq to streamline their communications, to break down the silos in their corp, and increase their productivity.

But what if you could go a step further and make extensions/mini-apps on Cliq that further automate the customization efforts like, say, when you customized Zoho CRM for a customer, would you not love to automate some of those customizations?

Consider this - In the course of doing business, people need to spend money on Fuel, Lunch, Hotels etc. How to keep track of this without having to context switch in Zoho? What if there were some app on top of Cliq that does the job of tracking expenses from within your Cliq App and also automatically sends you reports of your spending?

So we went ahead and actually built an Expense Manager with Cliq and Catalyst. 

So what does it do?

Well, no surprises here, it stores the expenses you have incurred and then the bot automatically notifies you of the expenses in a weekly or monthly fashion. No need to look up big tables or search. But, if you choose to have a single unified view of all your expenses, we have provided for that as well in the Widget.

This extension consists of the following:-

  1. Widget

  2. Bot

  3. Functions

And by the way, we used Nodejs to do these using Catalyst. And no, you do not have to write any code for linking Cliq and Catalyst since we have already taken care of that via Integration-Functions in Catalyst. So this pre-links Catalyst and Cliq.

All you need to do now is to make your Cliq Extension in cliq.zoho.com/developer and write the custom/execution code within the Integration Functions in Catalyst.

We built this in a couple of hours. It is super easy since we have taken care of the heavy lifting. ( remember Integration-Functions?). We are also giving away the code and will be happy to teach you how we built it so that you can go build even more super apps on Cliq with Catalyst.
